On the debate between soldering and crimping, I reckon the Trojan publication says most of it at

The issue of vibration is frequently brought up. I can see it as an issue in aircraft, high power navy ships etc. Our boat does not vibrate. If anything did, then I would fix it. Well built cruising sailboats are vibration free.
Of course cables have to be physically supported.
The aircraft guys do not deal with much salt water.

The "crimp only" promoters seem to forget that crimped multi-strand wire has lots of tiny gaps for moist, salt air to get into. Solder cures that.
Sealing with Sikaflex would be an other option, but I like the superior conductivity and gap filling of solder..

Of course, covering with the kind of heavy duty heat shrink that has guk on the inside is always a good move.
