Remember well one instance coming from Block to Pt Judith in the fog - thick fog. We had Loran and were running a DR plot so knew where we were. About 2 miles off PJ we came across a couple of young men in an outboard heading for Block. They wanted to know which way to go. After the Old Harbor/New Harbor question and considering the tides, I gave them a compass course to take them slightly E of 1BI. They either didn't have a compass or didn't know how to use it, and just wanted me to point the way to go. I strongly suggested they follow me to Pt Judith - as I recall, they didn't. The fog eventually lifted, so they probably survived - maybe they learned something?
