... replacing my CB pennant. Last time I replaced mine was maybe 8 years ago. Then I used simple 1/2" double braid. I removed it yesterday and it's fine really, could have gone another couple years easy.

With the board up, there's maybe 5 feet of line constantly in salt water. I'm probably going to downsize the line to 7/16". Wondering if I should consider a different type of line ? I was also thinking I would use a SS thimble at the eye splice where the line fastens to the pin that is underwater, but last time I used a plastic thimble and it too looks fine ?

I'm guessing my Board weighs about 200 pounds, it is SS Spline, wrapped with foam and encased in fiberglass. Draft goes from 5 feet with the board up to 8.5 feet with it down. Thanks, cheers, John
