Used 3/16" single braid spectra with spliced end around SS thimble. Pennant goes to reel type winch so never touch the pennant. Only problem is original was wire with small diameter tubing and the tail of the splice is too large a diameter to fit into the tubing so board hangs down an inch or two. No big thing, though.
