No, it is not ... runs fair ...

There is a turning block right before the line enters the SS tube conduit. This used to be a nylon sheave, bit I spent a bit and got a new sheave and compression bushing from Ed at Zepherwerks. I have his sheaves in my mast and really like them. I did not see any sign whatsoever of any chafe on the line. The line was 1/2" Sta-Set, I was actually surprised how well the line looked after 10 years. So I decided to stick with the Sta-Set and downsized to 7/16". I am trying a Schaefer Low Friction Ring instead of a thimble. In the past, I've used nylon thimbles instead of SS ones, the nylon thimble was in fine shape when I took apart, but it was a bit crushed, so hoping the smaller Schaefer part will work out well. I did notice a bit of corrosion on the underside of the SS Trunk Plate where the caulk sat, and a bit on the SS conduit pipe where the hose attaches like a stuffing box. So will keep an eye on this but they've done fairly well for 30 years. All going back together today. Thanks again ! Cheers, John
