A mating flange: I realized, no way a solid piece will make the bend,...

of the coamings so I used the original template to mark the curve on Fir stock. One piece 1 1/2" x 3/4", one piece 3/4" x 3/4". Then the two pieces sandwiched in epoxy to form the 'L' flange or ledge.

I have a little more work preparing the bottom edge of the coamings and cabin back, on the boat. Then the new Fir flanges will be epoxied and fastened - up - into the coamings and cabin back, forming a ledge - all the way around the new cockpit.

The existing coamings are through bolted to the fiberglass decks, through a glass flange, 2" above where the new Fir flange will rest. That should make a strong joint to 'hang' the outer rim of the cockpit seat/bridge decks.

Below the cockpit well, 3 cross beams - now in perfect plane - supported by 6 posts(newly glassed to hull pads), will support the well and the interior rim of the cockpit seat/bridge decks.
