I was just looking at the Harken site and they list this as a problem under their troubleshooting guide... "My furler isn't working properly, how do I identify the problem?"
Now I have to figure out how to tell if the furler swivel IS upside down or not.
I managed to get the jib to furl, but it was really a PITA, and not something I want to have to depend on. I am now wondering if the yard put the furler together right. The furler swivel worked just fine when I hoisted it with just a downhaul line, but when I put the sail on it, the halyard wants to wrap around the foil when I try to roll up the jib. I didn't need any sort of halyard deflector before... but now the halyard wants to wrap around the foil.
I still have the option of using a wire pendant to move the location of the halyard to the swivel. But I never needed it before.
