Yes there's a dome but it looks pretty sleek. It would go well with your iPad.

I use my Ipad in a plastic case, and it works pretty well
I wouldn't buy stock in a marine electronics company that wasn't changing it's tech to tablets.

I think that if that Garmin 182c isn't busted why bother replacing it...

Raymarine came out with the Quantum radar, which wirelessly transmits to their displays..
They do sell the cable as an option!
