I use my Ipad in a plastic case, and it works pretty well

Hi Doug,

I bought a flexible plastic case for my IPad somewhere, nothing fancy, but it has a watertight zip on one end. You can scroll, zoom, do whatever through the plastic without much difficulty. It's a bit of a PITA to hold it in your hand, but you could figure out a way to mount it if you wanted to.

A couple years ago I bought a LifeProof case that is waterproof and can be mounted on a pedestal, and can be scrolled, zoomed etc as it doesn't cover the screen itself. A friend on a 50 footer uses one as his primary Nav tool mounted at the helm. He ran power to it thru the LifeProof Case. I've never tried it as the plastic sleeve works well enough for now. I think at some point I may well end up with a large IPad and use that as a primary Nav tool, though that would be a few years off. At that point I'll figure out some kind of fixed mount with power.

Best regards,
Max
