seems that I might not have been clear. By lifting one of the wires to the oil pressure switch to see if the alarm cleared would prove that the alarm was being generated from the high temperature sensor and not the low oil pressure switch because both usually use the same buzzer. I wouldn't think that the engine actually has low oil pressure unless it's been treated really roughly over it's lifetime. My oil pressure is perfect and the engine is 30 years old. It's possible but more likely is a bad switch or ground on the system.
