The area below and above the bridge are sometimes surprisingly different

The Fall and Spring are generally the best sailing in the Chesapeake; however, some summer days are amazingly good.

This year, it was VERY, VERY, HOT (as you know from a bit farther south on in the Tidewater/Northern Neck of Virginia).

We escaped to Maine for a long cruise again this year. It was a very good weather year up there for boating. (They are having a severe drought in Maine and New Hampshire, but that byproduct of that dryness produced little fog while we were there.)

Carolyn, to my amazement, commented that she missed the fog this year. I was shocked, because when we've been in some hairy situations, her sentiments didn't seem the same ;^)))).
