live in a high rise in downtown San Diego. That means someone lives above us. In fact, a bunch of people live above us. So, Denny and I were in the Catskills watching the fall colors change after doing several Civil War battle field tours in Virginia. I'm laying in bed about 11:00 pm local time when my phone rings and it's the girl that lives below us. She says "there's water coming through my ceiling". That's not so good so I get on the phone and call the building manager and tell him just what he really wants to hear at 8 o:clock at night . He heads down to the unit and finds that there is a clog in the drain pipe for all the sinks in the stack which backed up into our sink. Water ran out of the sink, across the floor, down the hall and into the TV room. The water destroyed the white burber carpet in the living room and maybe the carpet in the TV room. The building manager called a company which deals with these types of things to dry out the place and re-construct the damage. While tearing out the kitchen cabinets they cracked the granite countertops. They had to break out the drywall in three rooms about two feet up the walls as well. Bottom line is that it's going to be weeks before this gets solved and we need to be here. The up side is that we got our new main sail and "watch Commander". The SSB is back up with e-mail and my "spot" is on line. Life sometimes just gets in the way, doesn't it?😏
