Good thinking. I'm a fan of the vacuum pump. We used them quite often at work to clear circuit breakers of any moisture prior to filling them with SF-6 gas. The Virgin Island boatyard at Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda used them and the plastic sheeting after stripping the gel coat during a blister job. They tacked 1/2 inch pvc pipe to the sides of the boat about a foot apart all along the the length of the hull and covered it with plastic. Then they tied all the pipes to a vacuum pump and left it for a week. After a week the hull was pretty darn dry. Best of luck to the both of you.
