That reminds me of the time we walked about a mile and a half for provisions, and the heat/humidity/sun were so brutal we were spent. The thought of walking back to the boat with groceries was just too much. We tried calling a cab but none were available, we even tried neighboring towns (this was before Uber). There was a pizza place with a "free delivery" sign on the window so I walked in and asked "If I buy a pizza to be delivered to the marina, would you give my wife and I a ride along with the pizza?
Unfortunately the manager said no (citing insurance risk) and wouldn't take a bribe.
