We saw one last week on Chesapeake Bay . . . sitting on a groin near my inlaws' place in Reedville, VA. I don't recall ever seeing pelicans here in winter. And I have to say I was a little surprised when we started seeing them in summer a few years ago. Now they are a common sight.
