When Susie and I were there on Iain and Ruth's boat, Enreque had just rescued a family in distress. They had gone on the rocks in the middle of the night when an offshore blow had come up. Most of the boats were plastered with muddy water. Enreque heard the calls and went out in his open Panga at 2am when he heard the frantic calls. He pulled off a husband, child, and pregnant wife. He said he had to do it because all he could think of was his OWN family. Strange reasoning to go out and risk his life for someone else's family. Looking back, I thought the story completely credible. Can't say that we verified it with others. I thought Enreque treated us well.
