Lived for many years in San Diego and made it as far south as Ensenda. Perhaps things have changed but I found Mexico to be a country of extremes. The "have nots" have nearly nothing, the haves seem to have it all and get it all by very questionable means. I was also not a big fan of the M16 toting "police". The weather was indeed a huge plus, however the potential for me vanishing into a Mexican prison was far too great.
