Powdered/dried foods (link) (pic)

Michael,

We use a product called “Butter Buds”. It's a powder and you can it it at most local stores. We find it good to cook with for flavor, but it's NOT oily, so you can't fry with it in any way. Also, I have never been able to make it suitable for use on toast.

We used a powdered cheese a lot, a few of years back, and could not find it any more, until now! We found that if we added small bits of jalapeños in it, it's great. The stuff we were getting made up just like the nacho cheese you get at the stands.

It's good to have some of this stuff in reserve for those long times at remote places! When we were in a very remote anchorage and having a wonderful time, it's nice to stay a few extra days rather than run off just because you needed some food items. Sure, this stuff is not good for every day use (at least we don't think so :) ), but to extend a GREAT stay at a GREAT anchorage in a remote place, priceless;D.
