True...the first time took me two weeks...
In Response To: No, this is good ()

the second time took five six months. The third time took a year and for this one four plus years. I think it's age. I have no problem, as I used to, with adding some frills and conveniences.

That first time was very short though. CocoSolo Panama CZ to the San Blas. I and my two budies were what under 21 for sure. Compass was a military lensatic from my web gear. Had a so so chart but ALSO had a map of the coastal areas. Plus two three days practicing in Limon Harbor. A Seagull OB that conked out. Making attempts to into the breakwater entrance a neighbor came by and asked "You ever take lessons?" He jumped on board and sorted things out for us. Ended up at the Cristobal YC. Where the lessons and learning began. They still continue some four decades later.

The second and a half time took me as far as New Zealand took one month of preparation. Course it WAS on OP's boats. So I didn't count it in para 1.

From there it grew exponentially. I've figured out the way to keep that from re-occuring is not let there be a fifth time. Just keep the fourth one going permanently. Course it helps that the boat is my house and the job is also on the water. No distractions that way.....

;D
