...the one Dan was referring to in Zihuatenejo. The guy brings his cart from clear across town. I know because one day while coming back to town in a bus I saw him and his partner pushing the cart and they were still clear across town from where he sets up. In spring 2008 he used to set up across the street from the basketball courts which is basically the center of the town. This location is also a few doors down from where Rick's Bar used to be. Rick's Bar was the cruiser hang out in town. After partying at Ricks and listening to Jimmy Mamou on Saturday nights, there is nothing better than to head down the block to "El Rey de Hamburguesas". One of his tricks is to place a thin slice of ham on the grill while the burger patties are cooking. On top of the thin ham slice he puts shredded Oaxaca cheese and lets it get all melty and good while the patty cooks. I don't remember the other details but to me the ham and Oaxaca cheese trick made the burger most awesome. Oh, and he used Kirkland patties from the Costco in Acapulco. In any case, there was always a line. I think they were $3.
