I always seems to be thinking about this in bits and pieces, rather than at the whole engine...anyway, this weekend I'm going to try to do a thorough look-over of everything, and narrow down the possibilities. This has been bugging me for too long, but I haven't actually gotten around to troubleshooting it in a methodical manner...;-)
