know a thing about them but I do know that if you bring something else down with you you are opening a can or worms and it could get real ugly. If the has worked for a few years, take it back to the states with you and have it worked on. If they can't fix it salvage all the parts that are good and put them in spare parts. An inverter is just too big to keep a second one on board for a spare IMHO. Tropical Dance is huge and Dan might have the room but if I put a new "T" shirt on board I have to get rid of something. That's the way most cruising boats are and I would suspect that yours is no different. I have the Zantex 2000 watt inverter/charger unit with the remote. I also have a "True Charge 40" installed and ready to go with the flip of a switch. I can live with a Zantrax failure until I can repair or replace it. It would take a while longer on the generator to charge the batteries but that's OK because the True Charge is small enough to not take up much space.
