I would dearly love to have a pair or Steiners but can buy about 10 pair of the cheap ones for the same price. We had a "Binoc-Off" at one of our get togethers. The verdict was the opitics in the Defenders were virtually as good as the Steiners. The Steiners were easy to hold steady, probably because they were quite a bit heavier. One nice thing about the Defenders is they make a much lower cost splash if you drop them overboard. Since we have 2 pair I can let anyone use them while on our boat with out being a Hovering Nervous Nellie.
