Thanks Larry--I especially like your idea of using each twisted pair to carry + and - to cxl out interference to compass! I was worried about that since the wires will be exiting the binnacle!

So I think you're saying to tie together the ends of 2 twisted pairs so that I have 2 wires carrying 12v pos and 2 wires carrying 12v neg ? This would give me in effect more current carrying capacity, right?
