Question about rail tube connectors...

I'm planning on installing a pair of dinghy davits (St. Criox rotating type) on Argyle this spring. I'm attaching the base of the davits to an angle bracket on the stern. The vertical section of the bracket is then supposed to attach to my stern rail with a bracket that comes with the davits. The trouble is that the location of my stern rail is a few inches too far forward to attach to the vertical post of the davits. What I need to do is place another horizontal tube about 3 inches aft of my stern rail, so that tube can interface with the davit bracket.

I'm having some trouble finding the right kind of clamp or bracket that can attach two 1" tubes and a spacing of about 3 inches, and do so in a robust manner, while resisting a pull force (when the davits are loaded, it will be pulling on the stern rail). I've looked at various bimini assembly options, but those systems are all designed for a cantilever or push force, not pull. I could jury rig something, but I'd rather not, at least not for this. I've also seen some industrial "parallel tube clamps" but I can't find the right combination of open design and tube diameter.

The guy in the yard next to me has a pretty extensive stern section with radar post and davits, grill, wind vane, the whole 9 yards. On this apparatus, there are these right angle tube clamps that appear to be pretty robust. They are rectangular in cross section and the tubes are captured in removable "end caps" that are bolted into place, completing the join. Whoever makes these may also make a version that is parallel instead of 90 degrees. The trouble is that I don't know what they are called and I haven't yet been able to come up with the right search term to find them.

Any advice??

Thanks,

-Eric
