I am making this hard for myself! but then again it's all for fun!! I decided against going up the pedestal itself after I did lead the wire up through the pedestal, but I wasn't comfortable with the wire right next to the chain. The last thing I want to do is foul up my steering! Also, since my plotter is mounted right at the top of the guard I would still have a long run of wire to reach the back of the Garmin. By coming out higher up on the guard the exposed wire is minimized.

So we will see!
