Ha! Funny...a friend of mine on a borrowed US30 sailboat the other day ran of fuel coming into where we live

I'd check at the gauge again.
You have a fuel gauge???
I used to do the same thing but
Ditch the gauge and get a stick -- see Dan y below
How do you guys use a stick?
Easy on ours.
We have an "S" in our fill hose, so can't use a stick either
That's exactly how I do it except
Ground usually the issue ...
SG has it right ...
Take the Sending Unit out
check the sending unit ground
