While we swung at anchor peacefully the night before, our daughter on her laptop was talking to her boyfriend from college who was at that moment in Jerusalem on a work study program.
Yet while onshore that same day, I was thinking I could see much of the old Cutty Hunk still intact in what was preserved and even in what was new. While hiking the top, I remember looking into the thick underbrush along the way. It's still a wild place not too unlike it was when the first sailors came ashore here.
That final morning at about 3 am, I was awakened by a coyote on the shore just a hundred yards or so from the boat. I listened for some time to see if his calls were answered but I can't say they were. He could be alone, but I doubt it.
