I had bayonet type fixtures around the outside of my trawler... 
In Response To: Going to Seattle Boat Show for LEDs ()
and one in the galley. I bought bayonet-to-G4 adapters from 12vledlights.com. The finished product looked something like this photo and cost about $20 per fixture.
