The induced friction from compressing the chain plate against RFP would help -- but ultimately, I'm not how much
You do NOT want to torque bolts too hard in FRP. You can crush the fiberglass structure and weaken the area.

How about looking for a metric equivalent? 9/16 =14.2875 mm. 14mm closer than half?

I would think 316 is better,
I"ve never had a problem on boats with 18-8, however.
