When we went to agriculture, the guy asked if the boat was there to inspect. I told him no,, in the anchorage at Placentia. He said it was suppose to be in Big Creek. I said that I'd bring it if he wanted. He said no,,, it was ok. He then just asked me if I had any fruit. I even said I had a mango. He told me to eat it.
Interesting thing,,, when we checked out at Ambergesis Cay we were told that we overstayed the 2 weeks we paid the port captain in Big Creek for. Thinking we owed a lot of money at 10.00 a day per person equalling around 400 dollars the customs gal looked at what we already paid and was surprised. She told me we owed 80 Belize (40US) but then said forget it, just be gone in 24 hours.
So,, I guess the 10 per person per day is mostly at Big Creek. If you check in at Ambergesis it's less than 2 a day. I can deal with that.
No one is in Belize, they're all in the Bay Islands. I kind of missed the community of cruisers but on the other hand we were the only boat in any of the anchorages. We really liked that.
Lighthouse Reef and the Blue Hole was amazing. We were anchored with 1.5 feet under us with white sand for a mile in every direction. It was a full moon and the moon reflected off the bottom making the boat and lighting the sand making it white with a black sky and stars. I've never seen anything like it. Should have taken a photo
