We went up to Half Moon and anchored behind the reef as close to the cay as possible considering our draft. So,, with 6 feet we anchored in 6.5 feet. That still put us quite away from the cay but with the go-fast dingy it was quick. Really nice island.
The next day was nice so we motored weaving our way through the coral head patches just to the Blue Hole and spent the night. Amazing place.
Roatan is surely the place for catamarans. Everywhere we went it was 0 to 4 feet under us. Actually a couple of times it was less than 0 and we ran aground. You haven't done it right unless you've run aground in Belize at 6 knots under full sail. Kind of stupid sailing a 40,000 pound boat with 2 feet under you.
We did do it a low tide. Yeah,,, low tide,,, high tide was only 1/2 foot higher.
