I see that on the website. The ones I saw I believe were threaded with a washer, nut and cotter pin.

At least on the end I was looking at David. Looked like a better arrangement than the drift pin. It looked to me like an intelligent improvement to the fairly archaic piece of rebar or similar iron rod threaded through the granite stone that has to be bend over, "stapled", with a sledge hammer on shore. I would think the straight rod could be of a stronger material as well.
