But you have to know the name.

We have a C-series and it's a PITA to find those little 'tide triangles',,,, but,, we never know what the name of the place is. Example - when we're cruising up the coast of Mexico in the Western Caribbean and have a destination in mind I have no idea what to look for and just look for an icon closest to where we're going.

I agree that if you're familiar with an area, choosing a tidal predictions from a list is great but if you're in new territory, trying to find it from a list is impossible. The only way to get the prediction is to search for it on the chart. My beef on the issue is that, like most things on a vector chart, what you want disappears in the wider scales and you end up zooming in and moving around to find the darn thing.

I've also found that the predictions of tides outside the U.S. isn't consistent. Tides on 'Navionics' on the C-series is different from tides on the 'Garmin' which is different from the tides in the book. If I can find two that are at least close to the same I'm happy. Tides for the bar on the Rio Dulce were different on 4 references and we had to make a 'best guess'.

Hell what's the difference,,, the charts are all off anyway.
