I'll really miss the current cable on my 12 year old Furuno - about 10 conductors plus a teeny coax for the video signal. Terminating the 10 conductors is a straightforward but somewhat tedious crimp job - made more challenging by working inside the seat locker. Splicing the coax I found impossible - perhaps as I'm lacking training as a vascular surgeon. I ended up just putting crimp connectors on the center conductor and shield and going to a small double terminal strip. It worked.
Working with Internet cable is a piece of cake...
