Strongest winds from the east then going NE, N and finally NW as the storm passes. Our boat is in Southwest Harbor, which is open to the east. It got pretty nasty in there during Earl's visit last year, but as soon as the winds went NE things calmed down a lot. I did have some chafe on my backup pennant, but no problems other than that. I figured that my mooring was better than any anchor. Depending on where you are in Rockland I think you could be fine or in for a really rough ride. If you are in the northern part of the harbor, you have protection from the breakwater to the east and land close to the north. However, the southern part of the harbor could get really nasty
