I found remarks you made last year that you were impressed with the new gyro performance of your raymarine wheelpilot. I'm getting plenty sick of my Simrad WP30 and have been wondering if a new Raymarine would make a significant difference. In addition to its offwind performance, is it overall beefy and holds up well? I shouldn't have a problem since my boat has a 12,000 lb displacement, and they limit their recommendations to 14,500 lbs.

I was actually sitting around on my boat and thinking, "Surely some smart person who really understood the motion in a sailboat could come up with a compass system for an autopilot that understood a boat's motion better than on older models." Your comments seemed to suggest that someone has.
