but I believe the steering logic is the same in them. I have the Raymarine X30 course computer, driving the boat through a Jefa geared drive. My boat is 30,000 lbs and well beyond the capabilities of the wheel pilot drive. The key though, is in the solid state gyro sensors and steering algorithms using them. This has made considerable advances in the last 10 years, and even the last 5 in my experience. The only question would be, can the wheel steering actuator steer fast enough for your boat? The standard seems to be hard-over to hard-over in about 10 or 12 seconds. I doubt the new motors are much different than the one you have, if is it capable of of that sort of performance now, then I would think that a similar drive with the much advanced steering logic would be a great improvement.
