I agree that, when box below the dorade works, they're great...

But our big Vetus dorades can collect water in a very hard tropical storm force rain situation. Then, it's a different story. It hasn't been a deluge, but it does get wet. We now turn the dorades around when beating into really wet stuff.

When beating into a strong winds, rain, and steep seas -- we've taken spray to the level that causes problems with some water below.

Our Sabre, before the current J/Boat, also had dorades. I don't recall those shipping any liquid below -- except in a very strong tropical storm when we were docked.

Otherwise, I think they're great. NO other system provides better ventilation below. Mildew has never been a problem. And, as Tom says. On a really rainy night, you get decent ventilation.
