I'm amazed how your hands are tied at this time waiting on a hurricane. I don't recall now the spots but I had some good advice on best spots for protection. Ask the local sailors.
We stayed in Lake Tashmoo which is not ideal. As the winds go north, it's quite open and the locals warn it can get very hairy in there in those conditions. I believe it. The holding is not the best either(local knowledge again) Luckily, Earl veered at the last moment.
