We sat through about 5 hurricanes while in Fl for 25 years. I was amazed one day when we were running a little late in stripping the boat. It was blowing then maybe 30 + kts and the boat was moving around and lurching all about in her slip. When we cleared the deck and all the sails Including he mainsail) and put everything below, the boat just sat there barely moving as if asking "Why didn't you do this earlier"? We had everything off the deck and the halyards wrapped tightly around the mast.
