I have three 39-foot hulls and spent a total of about 5 days this spring compounding and polishing and waxing the gelcoat (using MaineSail's instructions and recommended products). The image below shows the finish level acheived... now it's getting chalky again. Can't keep doing that, and can't let it turn to crap either. Some of you may remember I went down the Poly-glo road, and that wasn't good in year 2 either.
Going to paint the boat at the end of this season. Will have it sprayed professionally. Would appreciate input from those with first-hand experience.
