Hi Gene. We use

a lifting crane for the outboard.
I just replaced all the running rigging and yeah, I put an extra several feet on each so they would reach the water while also on a winch. I don't know that they'll get used that way but it's only a few extra dollars and it's nice to have options when the crap hits the fan.

- Main, spin, and both jib halyards are all long enough to reach the water
