So how long is your halyard? How do you use it? How to move "loads" about?
Hi Gene. We use
If too short is the only reason, no need to replace
Nah, it's old anyway...
Now that you asked.
With my old motor I used my mizzen sheet to lift the motor...
Interesting, what is that motor?
Torqeedo 1003S
I saw that the other day at WM while looking at Dinks and motors... I wondered... do tell more.
Answers to your questions...
You no doubt have that magnet thing that keeps your electrons clean, eh? GRIN
Oh yes and the special filter...
I like it too -- but leaving it at a dinghy dock would give me pause
That is why I take mine home
But what would you do if you go anywhere?
When we go somewhere we just leave it at the dock
Yeah places like BI and MV are real dangerous
Compared to Frenchboro and Swans Island BI and MV are hotbeds of crime...
the difference
It might even make the local TV news fro the big city
The Oak Bluffs town dinghy dock has signage: "strongly suggest you lock your dinghy".
I remember a more alarming dinghy dock sign
I don't worry about catching pot lines when sailing
Looks like you could cable lock the battery.
You can take the tiller handle off without removing the battery...
I really like having a 2:1 spinnaker halyard...
How do you have that 2:1 spin halyard rigged?
There's a single block with a becket at the masthead crane...
Which ultimately begs the question...
If it is for a spin halyard it should be strong enough to lay the boat over 90 degrees and not break.
Yup - and doing it as a double-purchase halves the load on the crane too
I'm not sure it halves the load on the crane
You're right. I wasn't visualizing the picture right on my first reading
You're right, the crane supports the entire load...
Hey Jon....coming south this winter?
What are you picking (up)?
Main, spin, and both jib halyards are all long enough to reach the water
I think different issues, Gene
Yes indeed, you are on the right track...
