we went very close to Cape May Point, and between Prissy Wicks and Elph. The boat we were in had a 6.5 draft, but kick-up rudder. You can play it a little safer and go outside Prissy Wicks but still cut very close to Cape May Point without having to go all the way out to the ship channel.

As you noted, the hurricane might have changed things. Give a shout on the VHF to the CG or one of the tow boat companies and ask for local knowledge.
