My wife and I headed out to the boatyard this morning and took out the 4 ports to refinish this winter. I was very glad I chose to pull them since they seemed to be held in by dirt and habit rather than an abundance of sealant. Mind you there was sufficient sealand to make it a bit of a battle but not enough to keep out all the water. There were a few signs of leakage but nothing too serious or damaging. I have, over the years I've owned the boat, removed most of the fittings to rebed them; it's only natural that the ports were due as well. Now, I only have to get them apart and cleaned up and convince someone to anodize them! It seems like a good winter boat job. Thanks for everyones help!
