I have my sunk costs in with the Xantrex. It will handle 30 amps and the manual is decent. The solar and wind prohibition is really mentioned matter of factly and I was surprised it was not bolded or underlined or disclaimed in some manner. Really good wiring diagrams, etc.

This all started when I was looking for a poor man's desulphator and someone suggested I run the solar straight into two 6 volts. I wanted to check the solar voltage and that's when this all started. Seems like it is all working at the moment.
