Emptying the 80 gallon tank might be a task for me.

I thought about trying to run it dry these days, now that thinking has changed on this. I always went with the old rule of going into storage with a full tank. These days, that's sort of been like an annuity as well, when I look at the price on the pumps the next spring.

When and if I do pull the tops (you'll have to pull all four held down with a couple hundred bolts, to get cleaning access to all baffled areas), that will likely be the end of the tanks as built. Then I'd put new smaller ones in(standard refit for these old boats), the 80 gallons is more than we need haul around.

That photo is inside the Cape Cod Canal and indeed, now we always close the hatches in the canal AND turn the dorades aft, no kidding!
