I had some last night, Sushi, and some local whelks, even my first "uni"

The Uni was a big surprise! Both my daughter and I thought it tasted like fresh melon(wife and son passed with a grimace). It's hard to describe, I now understand why urchin gonads are so popular in Japan. Whelks are quite good(these were cooked), a little like Calamari.

But the scallops, uncooked, wrapped in a small seaweed cone with delicate vegetables, were just out of this world. I swore last night I'd never spoil another scallop by cooking it.

All this, and the Opera too(streamed in live from the NYC Met) at the Strand, in Rockland Maine.
