3M Finesse-it works well on Awlgrip 
In Response To: If it's Awlgrip, I'd be very gentle with chemicals or compounding ()
It's not as aggressive as rubbing compound. This is +15 year old Alwgrip after polishing with Finesse-it receiving a finish coat of Awlcare. There are a lot of dings and scrapes that don't show in the photo but it's shiny again.

- I replaced mine the second time I painted the hull.
- In a time of boats often changing hands, seems a waste to paint a name on. Vinyl works for me.
